Youth Camp

To spread positive vibes for Indonesia’s forests nationwide, Hutan Itu Indonesia recruited 20 young people from Ambon, Medan, Palangka Raya and Surabaya to join a Youth Camp in Jakarta on 25 and 26 August 2017. The winners of the Youth Leader in Sustainability, a Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil competition, also attended from their home cities of Yogyakarta and Bandung, as did new Hutan Itu Indonesia staff.

Over two days, the participants were facilitated by Inspirasi Tanpa Batas (Inspirit) to explore how to create positive forest campaigns suitable for young people in their respective cities. They were also inspired by delegates from Kedai Jatam, Amnesti Internasional, Indorelawan, Change.org and Kitabisa.com. Following the Youth Camp, participants formed Youth4Youth to begin running campaigns in their respective cities.
